Lighting Design That Transforms Movement into an Experience

ModuleX® was selected for the lighting plan and environmental effects in the elevator halls of Harumi Island Triton Square Office Tower Y, a landmark in Harumi, Tokyo.

This project was for a large-scale mixed-use complex that combines office, commercial, and residential functions, and that stands as a landmark in the Harumi area. The concept draws inspiration from Harumi’s waterfront setting, and lighting effects that evoke a gentle sense of swaying were incorporated into the space, inspired by the sea and its waves.

We pursued a carefully balanced palette of gradient colors appropriate for an office environment, refining every detail, from the hues and number of colors through to the overlapping areas of light and the nuances of the lighting effects.
The effects produced by the light-source units integrated into the wall louvers were designed using our Dynamic Lighting Design™ and Spectrum Design™ lighting design techniques and are controlled by ModuleX® Controls.
To give light the impression of flowing like waves, we repeatedly fine-tuned the color tones to account for the light-emitting characteristics of the equipment, while optimizing the dimming curves and control parameters, ultimately achieving an arrangement that is smooth, cohesive, and beautiful.

Through intentionally designing the experience, we offer those who use the elevator halls a degree of value beyond simply as spaces to pass through, transforming them into spaces that shift your state of mind.
By varying the flow and spectrum of light in step with working hours and the passage of time, the lighting environment is designed to create a sense of excitement and anticipation when people arrive at work and allow them to gently reset after the workday, bringing a pleasant rhythm to the elevator halls they use day after day.

Recognizing the impact that the ambiance of a space can have both on people’s state of mind and the overall brand image of a facility, we use lighting not merely as equipment, but as an instrument for creating experiential value. In doing so, we simultaneously ensure the functionality of the venue and provide an enhanced spatial experience.
Leveraging the principles of experience design, we contribute to increasing the value of the facility by enhancing the quality of the space while responding to the emotional needs of the people who work there.
